UltraViolet Designs

I would like to say a quick thanks to all the guys at UltraViolet Designs especially Kirsten and Gareth for giving me the opportunity to do my 6 weeks work experience with them during the summer. UV Designs create a variety of of different products from interesting websites to useful web applications. The guys work hard to make sure everything they produce is to the best standard and work hard to make sure they are at the top of the game.

I am excited to see how things go in the summer and look forward to working as part of their team.

Sushi Roboto : Games Unit

I am currently working on a big assignment at University with 4 other individuals to create a game.
Illustrated table covered in sushi, fish and chop sticks

We had free range over the unit so we could produce a game in 3D using Cinema 4D and Unity or we could make a flash based game. We decided to mix it up a bit and go for a bit of both using Cinema 4D to create 3D models and then using Papervision to bring them into flash.

Decode: Digital Design Sensations

Decode Exhibition

http://www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/decode/

Whilst visiting my brother in London I decided to venture over to the VA Museum to check out the Decode Exhibition.

“Decode: Digital Design Sensations showcases the latest developments in digital and interactive design, from small, screen-based, graphics to large-scale interactive installations.”

From a general public point of view the exhibition had a nice selection of information lead and interactive installations for people to play around with. This is where I started to become a bit more critical of the work and how it was made. Nothing in the exhibition seamed to be leading edge of new from a technology or coding point of view and simple worked on the idea that this work would only be seen by people with any background in interactive media. This feeling left me view each piece wondering what techniques I would use in order to recreate each piece again for myself.
